I know a friend who lives in Canada but works in U.S. She is a Canadian PR. She commutes daily and cross the border twice everyday. But I have never heard of your situation. I figured that she got an H1 visa with multiple entries which allows her to do so.

The advantage of her way is, she keeps her U.S. job, at the same tiem, she won't lose her Canadian PR status. Some time later she can become a Canadian citizen.
