泣求指点on H1 extension

请问：各位好心人：由于international office 于human resource 在prevailing wage 的　争持（my position change from postdoc to associate scientist)加上年未假期导置我的Ｈ１extension application 未能及时递出，my last H1I797 expired at 01/02/2005,现在international office 答应以最快时间递出我的application.因此即是如此，也已有一天的GAP,
请问这种情况下会有十么样的后果？１，会导致Ｈ１extension rejected? 2,对ＧＣ　申请有无影响？３，有无任何补救措施？
