please help nurse immigration!

I will file my 140 and 485 concurrently at end of this month for my nurse immigration.Because the attorney will charge my husand higher legal fee.So my hu*****and decided to file his case separately with mine.我们可不可以不通过我的laywer.after my 140 approve (probably few months later) and file his 485 and do not inform my attorney,add his name to my case.这样做行不行，doese any body has the same experience like me.I appreciate any suggestions.My case in California.
