加拿大签证过期可以去签美国签证么

I am in Tornoto now. I have extended my study permit till Sept. 2005, but haven't got the time to extent my Canadian Visa. It expires on Dec. 30. I applied to have an interview to get an American visa. I don't know whether the absense of an Canadian visa will interfere with my American Visa. Do you think I can go for the interview for US visa?
