我爸是2018 年2月拿到的绿卡。 他以前也来过几次美国，但是都是住了较短的时间就回国了。 他在2017年的6月至2021 年9 月 的大部分时间是住在美国的，虽然在这段时间里也回了两次国，但时间都较短。 因为我妈已经去世，我们原来打算是让让我爸和我在美国居住养老的。但是，2020 年以后的疫情，很多活动都取消了，老人在美国待不住了，坚决要求回国。所以只好让他在2021 年9 月底回了中国。
本来我想他住一段时间还会回来。结果他在2022 年1 月再婚了，现在和新老伴一起住得不错。 我觉得他因该不会在美国常住了。所以我想给他停了在美国这边买的健康保险等。但是，我刚问了他，他还想保绿卡。
不知现在还来得急吗？应该如何做？
-Technically, his green card is void. It is impossible for him to keep the green card valid when he lives in China for a long period of time. he may just abandon his green card (file I-407) and then, applies for the B2 visa to visit you. If he wants to get the green card again in the future, you can sponsor him again as you did before.
