我的妹妹是绿卡持有者， 她已经申请了三次回美证（ 一共使用了五年）， 她当时申请的原因是自己的足部手术，她在中国做的手术（手术失败了一次，又做了第二次手术）　和后续治疗， 也顺带帮助年迈的父母。 由于她已经申请了三次回美证，一共在中国呆了５年时间。原则上，她不可以再申请回美证了。

由于目前国内的父母身体都很不好， 我妹妹希望再向 移民局申请一次 re entry permit 的extension. 她目前的回美证会在今年4 月中旬到期。

我建议她写一个简单明了的陈述， 加上父母的医生的诊断证明（中英双语）， 以及说明在瘟疫期间她一旦回到美国，无法在紧急状态下（比如亲人病危）从美国顺利返回中国， 用DHL的方式把自己要求的回美证申请延期的材料邮寄给移民局官员，不知这么做的思路是否可以？谢谢。

-This strategy will not work. Based on the immigration law, she needs to return to US before the current reentry permit expires adn then, file I-131 for renewal of the reentry permit within US. She can leave US after conducting the biometrics/fingerprinting. She may request expedited processing for biometrics which take 10 to 14 days. See this link:

If she does not return to US before the current reentry permit expires, her green card probably will be revokded (cancelled).
