我确实三年半一直在中国，中间回来办了RP更新。这样的话最早只能在2021年8月申请入籍。考虑到绿卡11月到期，还是?????先延期绿卡，再申请公民。请问8老师是这样的吗？

-If you don't travel or change your job, you do not have to renew your green card even if after it expires. Expiration of the green card does not affect your permanent resident status and does not affect your N-400 approval.

能不能在8月提交公民申请，而后用公民申请的文件获得临时绿卡stamp，省去办理绿卡延期的费用和程序？多谢8老师！
