最近我在给父母办绿卡，因为爸爸是共产党员问题收到RFE，要求提供affidavit or sworn statement. 请问啥是sworn statement? 请问皮匠大侠博客里面提供的是explaination letter 的模板，是应该附在申请里交上去的，对吧？我交的时候没有仔细看你的博客，选了共产党，但是没有提供 explaination letter。所以现在收到的RFE是这样写的要an affidavit or a sworn statement relating to any and all information about your affiliation, status of membership, role, reason or involvment with the commnist Party or any other totalitarian party.

 

问题1:

sworn statement是不是不应该是信的形式？而是一个简明扼要列条条的格式？

-It is just a statement, no specific format.

 

sworn statement列

第一条，我入党那年那月开始那年那月结束，

第二条：我的入党是一种时局所迫，利益驱动 (plus: e.g. employment and promotion needed, etc.)

第三条：党费那年开始不交

然后一sign。对不对？

-Yes, but also need to address what kind of role he acted as in the Party (e.g. a leader or just regular member), what kind of Party activities he participated in (e.g. routine Party group activities, meetings). If possible, had better provide the eveidences that he quitted the Party such as the letter from his Party group leader, or Party branch secretary, or his Party group member who knew this fact, etc.

 

问题2:

 

请问移民局提交sworn statement以后一般要求提供确实的证据吗？比如说最后一次交党费是什么时候，或者退党证明一类的。这都多少年过去了，啥证据要提交不出来啊。谢谢各位大侠这样无私的分享知识。祝你们也一切顺利！
