-You need to check the Visa Bulletin at the following websites each month to see whether your priority date is current. If yes, then you can conduct the physical exam and submit the I-485:

https://www.uscis.gov/visabulletininfo

USCIS will not contact you in this issue if you file I-485 within US and thus, you need to be responsible for yourself. If you have no idea, you may hire a lawyer to help you.
