八老师，我妈妈有绿卡，但在中国呆了4年多。2014离开美国前申请了返乡证，两年过期后，未续期。她长时间呆在中国不能返美是因为我爸爸2014回国治病，随后病情加重，一直卧床住院，需要全天护理，我妈妈是主要护理人。现在我爸爸过世了，请问这种情况申请SB-1签证有把握吗？
-In my opinion, it is verry difficult for your mom to get the SB-1 visa because your father's illness is not a good  reason enough to prevent her from returning to US.

-My suggestion is that your mom may just abandon her green card and then, apply for B2 visa to enter US. If she wants to apply for the green card again, then you may sponsor her as you did for her before. Although it is not 100% for her to get the B2 visa (nothing is 100%, anyway), I have never heard anyone like her did not get the B2 visa after giving up green card. So, normally it should be fine for you to get the B2 visa after she gives up the green card.
