小孩6岁，在上海领事馆申请B-2，需要面试。这么小的小孩，回答签证官的提问会有困难的。
请教的问题：小孩申请B-2签证，妈妈能否允许陪同进入领事馆，并代小孩回答面试问题吗？
-I think so. The mother needs to bring her passport to enter the US Consulate. If the father does not go with the child (e.g. the father is in US), then the father also needs to write a letter (consent statement) indicating the father agrees the mother to accompany the child to US and also provide a copy of his identification (i.e. passport and green card /US citizenship certificate).

在领事馆官网只看到“参加面谈的申请人必须--携带面谈确认信到领事馆。任何面谈预见信上没有注明名字的人士将不被允许进入领事馆。”
只有“14岁以下的未成年移民签证申请人必须由一位成人陪同，此成人可以是父母亲--”。我们给小孩申请的是B-2签证，不是移民签证。
