Yes, Visa is current if follow-to-join works. If your spouse files I-130 for you, it is not Follow-to-Join. I do not think you can file as a slef-petitioner, unless you are battered or subjected to extreme cruelty (受到公民/绿卡配偶的殴打或者极端的虐待).
