急问， 关于Alien registration number

我父母二十多年前来过也F-1,F-2身份来美几年，后来就回国了，这些年以B-2探亲过。二十多年前他们都被给过社安号好像还有work permit。我现在给他们申请绿卡，但不sure 他们会不会有过 A number。 A number 是只给办移民（绿卡）的人的吗？
