-You can ask your old employer to withdraw your H-1 after you finish your employment there, and thus your H-1 clock will be stopped. So, in the future, if your I-485 is denied, you still can ask your new employer to file H-1 petition for you and you just need to go to China to get the H-1 visa to come back.
