我是2010年10月1日拿到的绿卡，之后有一年多的时间在中国。

-Do you mean you stayed in China and never returned to US during that period of time? If so, then your residence continuity was disrupted unless you worked in China for a US company and you filed N-470..

自从2012年9月12日回美国后一直在美国居住，只有在2014年回国两个月。请问我可以在2016年8月提交公民申请吗？谢谢！

-No unless you worked in China for a US company and you filed N-470.  You have to have the Continuous Residence for five years since 9/12/2012 to be qualified for N-400 filing.
