请教探亲签证问题

I have a couple questions:
1. My baby is due next July, my mom hopefully will come and I hope she can get a 6 months visa. We will extend it twice, so she can be here for 1 and half year. Is this still possible? Have anyone's mom (or parents) came lately and successfully extended her visa twice?

2. I have GC, and supposedly can apply for citizenship next Jan. Let's say I get my citizenship while my mom is here, should I apply for GC for her? My concern is that then she will stuck here for 2 or 3 years, what if my grandparents need her back? Can she apply for Advanced Parole? So that she can go to China and come back to US while she is still pending for the GC?
