-The IO will not accept that kinds of reason. It is the nurse or doctor's responsibiltiy to take care of a patient (your father), not your mother. Your mother should have returned to US before the reentry permit expired and then, went back to China to take care of your father.
Also she broke her ankle while taking of my dad. She is in her late 70.
They don't want to abandon their green cards. Could they give it a try at least?
-Yes if they want to, but I don't think your mother will get it.
