律师认为即使在9月1日前交上去，移民局也会等到我的PD再次Current才会批准，等于和目前雇主的申请一样，没有意义。

-You may ask the lawyer: how about if you lose your current job some time later?  At least you are temporariy safe even if you lose job, and also your I-485 case may be approved right away when the PD is current again because USCIS have completed the procdeure and wait there.
