父母绿卡申请中回国

我在今年5月份为父母同时递交了I-130, I-485及AP。现130和485尚未批准，AP已拿到。他们准备近期回国，可能无法在美国面试485。请问可否递交I-824，改成CONSULAR PROCESS, 然后在国内等绿卡？如果可以，是否在离开美国前就需递交824？谢谢！
