请教各位老师一个问题。我有个朋友今年拿绿卡第十年了，十月份绿卡过期。但是他现在人在国内工作，没法长期连续的待在美国。请问在这种情况下，他应该如何去renew绿卡呢？

我看到绿卡renew从申请到新卡寄出需要相当长的时间，在申请后收到新卡前如果当前绿卡失效应该如何应对呢？多谢！
