A relative with a Chinese passport without a greencard has a U.S. passport-holding son and wants to come to the U.S. with her son so that her son can attend 8th grade and high school in the U.S. She don't need to immigrate to the U.S., but she needs to stay for 5 years to help her son to graduate from high school. Here are her questions:
1. What kind of U.S. non-immigration visa should she apply for?
2. If she applies for a B2 visa to enter to the U.S., is there a way for her to change to other visa to stay longer than 6 months?
3. If she comes to the U.S. with a B2 visa and extends it to 6 months for total 12 months of stay, how long she has to be outside of the U.S. before she can apply B2 visa again?
Thanks a lot for the help.
