My hu*****and comes back to Canada every Friday night and back to the US every Sunday night, without any visa, just valid I-94 (H1b). So if returning to the US within 30 days, you will be fine. But please note, I mean pass the border by personal car, not sure if by commercial ways, such as planes, trains, or greyhounds.
