回复：关于H4转F1身份请教

女是加国籍，目前是H4身份。上周被UCB录取，想请教达人该怎么转H4 to F1.
-She does not need to change H-4 to F-1 for the study. But if she wants to do that, there are two choices for her and either one is OK:
1. Get the I-20 from the school and file I-539 (ask the school International Student Office for help);
2. Get the I-20 and go out of US (e.g. US-Canada border, or China) and come back to get the F-1 I-94 at the port of entry.


另外她的H4年底需要延期，暑假还要回中国待一个多月，这种情况，什么时间转身份更适合？
-When does she begin the school? If it is in the late of August, she may get the I-20 and visit China, then come back to US in advance up to 30 days before the school semester begins (I-20 effective date).
