I hope you try the O visa.Use all the materials you prepared for your I-140.Since it is proved,there is no reason that the O visa will be denied (O visa is only one small step to Green card)if your application is based on EB-1 or NIW. There is expedition way for O visa, just as H-1B. As long as you can get the notice from CIS before your J expires, you will at least get 3 years, during when you can try the single-side waiver by US government. I think that is the only way to try. If you go back to China, there are a lot of uncertainties, you may loose all you have got.
