My employer is currently in the process of chapter 11 bankrupcy. In the meantime, my H1B is getting renewed. I also have an I-140 petition that was approved before the bankrupcy. Since after the bankrupcy my employer will be techincally a different company (different employer ID, tax ID, etc.), does my H1B need to be transfered?
-Not need to do anything and just continue to work if you still work for the same position and in the same location. When you do H-1 extension,, just use the new company name (new employer file H-1 extension for you).


Similarly, do I have to redo the green card application starting from PERM?
-Your new employer (new name) needs to file an I-140 amendment to take over the approved I-140, not need to do it all over again.
