我有一好友，2009年拿到绿卡，2011年后回中国工作，但在美国一直有自住房贷和驾照
等。他2011，2012年多次回美，可是自去年5月14号以来没有入过境，现在持有的
reentry permit已经二月份过期，目前持有的Form N-470 还没有过期。他有些担心自
己的绿卡身份，请问他是否需要尽快回美，以保持绿卡身份？是否一定需要再申请
Reentry permit?
-He must return to US before May 14 this year to renew the reentry permit. N-470 is not helpful at all to his overstay in China (N-470 is for the physical presence for US citizenship application only). Otherwise, his green card will be invalid automatically.
