I guess you filed by yourself. The reason why you were denied probably because you didn't describe the impacts of your work to the National Interest, just emphasized how good you are. If so, appeal don't help. Don't waste your time and money.
Hire a lawyer, file both EB-1 and NIW, lawyer will tell you exactly how to prepare documents for both cases, and you will know why you were denied.
