我知道我拿到485收据后，打算下个学期转成parttime学生，也是合法的。可是国际学生办公室的人不懂，他们觉得如果不是fulltime就不合法。

-What they means is violation of F-1 rule if part-time study. But you do not need F-1 and just show them your I-485 receipt and EAD (if any) to demonstrate your legal stay to study and work. Explain to them that you have filed green card application, not need F-1 status anymore.
