Here is my situation:
Both my hu*****and and I were on H1B, both got I-140 approved. When his PD became current, he filed 485 for both of us, and we got EAD and AP. Then I lost my job when 485 is still pending and I have used up my 6 years of H1B. I'm currently looking for a job. My questions:
1. Do I need to report to any authority about my status at all ?
-Do nothing.
2. If I find a job, EAD is my only option, right? Is my approved 1-140 of any use at all ?
-If you have not extended your H1 beyond the 6 year limit, you can not extend it anymore. So, the EAD is the only choice. If you have extended it beyond the 6 year limit, you can extend it by going to China to get the H1 visa, or just use EAD to work.
3. My passport is expiring in a few months, before EAD is expired, do I need to renew before I can renew my EAD ?
-No. Priovide copy of your driver license/ID for the EAD renewal in this case.
