Pjiang, 863211 请救救!!

儿子明年2月将满21 岁了。 我们在今年初给儿子交了485，他过去2年一直在H4 的状态。 学校刚通知他下学期应该转为F1 身份。因为他将满21 岁了。

刚和律师联系， 下面是他的回答：

Your son really should not go on F-1 status at this point. The F status indicates non-immigrant intent but since the I-485 has been filed, he clearly has immigrant intent. He should work with the DSO at his school and let you son know to tell them an I-485 has been filed.

儿子告诉学校已经交了485。为什么学校还坚持说他应该换身份呢？ 我们应该如何给学校解释？ 或者说我儿子下学期可以用什么身份是合法的呢？
