我在２００７年通过婚姻拿到临时绿卡，１年后离了婚。在临时绿卡２年到期前单方申请永久绿卡得到批准。过去问过有我这种情况被告知应该等到今年绿卡５年时申请入籍，我的问题是,

我应该按照through naturalization,还是按照through marriage申请? (现在丈夫是美国公民,我们共同育有一子)

-You are confused in the definition, and the process of a foreigner to be US citizenship is called "naturalization". If you married a US citzinship and maintained the marriage and also live together for 3 years after you got the green card, you can apply for the US citizenship, otherwise you only can apply for the US citizenship after you got the green card for at least 5 years.

In your case, you can file N-400 to apply for the US citizenship now because you have got your green card for 5 years and this is irrelevant to your marriage anymore.
