8 laoshi, name and background check!

My i485 has been pending for 14 months,I had an interview two months ago. i check with uscis local office again today, she told me that my background check is still open. Is it true? where or who i can check my background status with? I tried infopass, but they always told me that it is still in normal process. Thanks.
