Your case is different. Your I-140 was approved before USCIS received your pp application. That means USCIS will not process your pp (i.e. will reject your pp application), and thus, they will return your application adn return your payment. In other words, it is equal to that you have never filed the pp application and of course, you will not get the new receipt (I-797).
