Qustion on the AP use

To people who may help,

I currently hold a H1-B visa, and my 485 is pending.

I plan to have a short trip to China.

Question:

If I return USA with the use of AP,instead of H1B visa, my current H1B is still valid or not. Do I need to renew it after I return. If not, does it mean that I can immediately work for the same employer after I am back from China?
