TD extension problem

My friend's TD visa I-94 card will expire by the end of April, 2012. She holds China passport. Her hu*****and holds Canada passport and valid TN visa to Oct 2014.
1. Can she apply TD visa extension on line by themself?
2. or what is the proper procedure? Where to apply extension?
3. If she can not get the new approval before her I-94 exprie, is she legal to stay in USA? How long?
