请教pjiang和别的专家关于I-539的问题

请问pjiang和别的专家 -

我现在H-1B快要到期了. 我想 file I-539 转成 B-2, 原因是想停留6个月旅行并探亲访友. 请问我需要单独附一封信说明原因吗?  I-539 并没有要求说明具体原因.
