how can I maintain status

I am kicked out of the Ph.D. program and have to graduate with MA in this semester, but the damn school did not want to transfer me from Ph.D. program to Master program, so I cannot apply for OPT now, does any one have any idea about how to maintain status for at least half year in this situation? Thanks very much.
