我已是美国公民，想带两岁的小孩（也是美国公民）回国住半年左右，我自己和小孩需要在中国办什么手续吗？如果不办，出境时会有问题吗？不让上飞机？罚款什么的？请指教。谢谢！

-Get the Chinese visa and the Chinese Consulate will tell your how long you can stay in China. If you need to extend your stay beyond that period, you can go to the local Chinese Security Department (公安局) to do it.
