Why your answer to the following post

is “he/she had better change the H4 to F1.”
since the tuition cost is higher for F1 than that for H4?
- It is not really true because child may attend the school in another state and such has to pay out-state tutition no matter what status the child has. Also F1 status can work on-campus, H4 does not.
Because this person does not want his/her child to file I-485, so the child has to keep status such as F1 (H4 will be lost after the parents get the green card). Also the child may turns 21 years soon.
-This person does not want his/her child (H4) to file I-485 NOW. This person wants his/her child to file I-485 after this person gets the GC and before the child out of status of 180 days and before the child turns 21 (CSPA age). Does the child still has better change the H4 to F1 if the child can pay in-state tuition on H4?
Why your answer to the following post

is “But he/she has to have a status if he/she stay in US before filing I-485.”
-Same as above. This person worried about that the child I-485 may be denied.
-This person worried about his/her own I-485 being denied, not the child’s. Does the child still has to have a status before filing I-485?
since your answer to the following post

is “Of course no.”-means whether you change your status to H4 itself does not affect the I-485 approval.
-Because your spouse has the H1 status and you have filed I-485 with him, you do not need to keep H4 status. If your spouse I-485 or your I-485 is denied, you can just go outside US to get the H4 visa to come back.
So, there are different choices and you can make your own choices. What I said here just is just for your reference.
-I was on H4. I was out of status for 2 days before filing I-485. What you mean “whether you change your status to H4”?
