You just need to provide the correct information in your I-485 filing and if USCIS send you RFE for this incorrect information in the I-140, just explain it in the response letter. Anyway, your green card determination is based on the information in your I-485 filing, not I-140. So, the incorrect birth place in the I-140 is not critical as long as your name, birth date, SSN, etc. are correct in the I-140 and thus, USCIS can identify that you are the correct beneficial of this I-140. That is all and nothing needed to worry about.
Also, this I-140 belongs to the employer and USCIS will not care about your request to fix the problem.
