Marriage with a GC doesn't help your GC application, even worse if you apply as a spouse since that will take about 5 to 7 years to get approval. You can check the processing time through INS. During this period, you have to keep your legal status, otherwise you have to leave, or out of status that will lead you face 3 or 10 years non-admittable penalty.
My suggestion is: either apply by yourself or wait until your wife becomes citizen if you can keep your legal status until that time.
