回复：Home Land Security Officer came and check

Hi.

Please help with my case. I got I-140 approved 3 years ago, I am waiting for my I-485 current date. I am in my H1B now, I am working in an insurance company. Today, a home land security officer came to my company and with HR, he asked several questions. Below are his questions and my answers.

1. what is you job title? (Senior Analyst)

2. what is your highest education level? (Master)

3. what are you doing right now? (Data analyst)

4. Did your company applied H1B for you? (my company) Who paid the application fee? (my company) 

5. Did your company asked you to pay the application fee back? (No they did not)

And then he said that I could go now and he left with our company's HR to look some paper work (related to me). I then left and I do not know what the paper work they (the officer and our HR person) were reviewing. That incident happened yesterday. I have not heard anything from our HR yet.

My question is, why the officer came to me?

-This is USCIS regular H1 on-site inspections. They always randomly select some h1 cases to inspect on-site to wee whether the employer comply with the H1 employment requirements.

 Am I in trouble?

-No unless your employer violates the h1 employment rule.
