My spouse has a job offer, and company wants him start ASAP. But his PD will be current on Nov., and he has I140 transfer (company B bought his department from company A) submitted about 2 month ago. He has I485 as my dependent on 2007, so, we are thinking that his I485 should be approved very soon after we file interfile re-link. So, we are asking the new company to extend the offer for 2 month.

 Question is: my lawyer told me as long as he is with the original company (company B) when I485 is approved, it is fine to leave the company immediately. Is it true?

 if not, how long we have to stay with the company B once I485 is approved? Also, do we need to wait for I140 approved before we do re-link (we have approved I140 from company A). Thanks for help.
