From the blog of pjiang, the H1b layoff can trigger the ref of 485 - "一般是在处理日期附近才收到 RFE, 但也有一种突兀而至的。这种情况多出现在 sponsor 通知移民局 H-1b 的提前终止，有的申请人会因此很快地收到 EV 的 RFE." Although I believed that our 485 is pre-adjusted, since employer will inform 移民局 if my spouse is laid off (H1b), will this trigger ref of 485? Did the department for this two process communicate each other?
-I am not sure about that. But if you have a new job in the same/similar area, you do not need to worry about the RFE because your I-485 has been pending for > 180 days.
