代朋友问：
小弟持Reentry Permit在国内待了近两年并想继续待一段时间，为了保险起见想在手里
的RP过期之前申请到新的RP，打算近期到美国递交申请打完指纹就回中国。可是USCIS
规定申请新RP时，必须将未失效的旧RP和申请一起寄给USCIS，除非旧RP丢失或损毁。
想请问各位老师：1. 如果我在新RP的申请上声明旧RP已经丢失（从而不用寄回旧的RP
）的话，USCIS是否会立即取消旧RP，从而导致我在拿到新RP之前（或新RP申请被拒绝
后）无法使用旧RP入境？
-The reentry permit (RP) renewal only can be filed in advance up to 120 days before the old one expires. So, after you enter US to file I-131 for the RP renewal and leave US, you can enter US using the new RP if you will enter US one year or more later since you file the renewal application. If you will come back to US before the renewal approval (it should be < 1 year to get it approved), you just use your green card.
2. 如果是这样的话，万一新RP的申请被拒绝，我该如何回到
美国呢？
-Return to US within one year using your GC.
