Canada passport, if working for a U.S company in China and payroll in China with I-485 pending, can I still stay with pending I-485 in the States w/o switching to CP in China?

-If USCIS send you RFE for your status, your I-485 may be denied. If no RFE, it probably will be OK. If your I-140 was sponsored by the same company, you can switch I-485 to CP if you want to (e.g. you will work in China for a long time). Otherwise, no.
