how to fill the employment item in I-589, Application for Asylu

A friend of mine wants to apply for asylum and has been here and worked illegally for long time. In the form I-589, application for asylum, there is an employment field to be filled. If he fills employer's name and address in that filed, will immigration offices use this information to catch him and the employer? He is very concerned about this.
