I applied I140(perm) and got approved in Aug. 2006 but did not file 485 because I changed my job. I applied another I antother I140(perm) and got approved in Dec. 2007. My lawyer filed 485 for me based on the first perm priority date in June. We just received 485 receipt with a priority date of Dec. 2007. I am so worried that there is something wrong with our file and the lawyer did not make it clear to USCIS that we should use the first priority date.
My lawyer told us if we applied 485 before our priority date became current, USCIS would return our application and would not issue a receipt. Is that true? Do we need to do someting? Very concerned. Please help!
