Go back to China before receiving the Green Card

Yesterday I received the email that card production is ordered. I will leave USA for China in 3 days, and thus most likely I will not receive the physical card before leaving. I plan to come back to USA in September.

Can I still use my valid AP in hand? If I ask my friend to mail the green card to China, can I use that green card when I come back at the USA border in September? Thanks.
