So, I can still work for my employer without EAD. But I can't extend it anymore, is that correct?

-You still can extend your H1 or transfer your h1 before your current h1 expires as usual after you use AP and then, your status will be H1 again after the h1 extension or transfer is approved. This is very special between using AP and H1.
